  31. I am a contractor for the US Navy.  We communicate with the ships a
  32. lot over the INMARSAT system.  I have found that one of the best
  33. modems for this is the Zyxel.  They have a built in cellular option
  34. that can be enabled.  It seems to help with the doppler shift, etc.
  35. The model we use is the U1496+.  (LCD display).  Maybe Zyxel will let
  36. you borrow a couple for evaluation?  You also need to turn on the extended
  37. retrain option.  It will allow data to pass even though the modems are
  38. retraining.  They fall back/forward reliably and work quite well.
