- I am a contractor for the US Navy. We communicate with the ships a
- lot over the INMARSAT system. I have found that one of the best
- modems for this is the Zyxel. They have a built in cellular option
- that can be enabled. It seems to help with the doppler shift, etc.
- The model we use is the U1496+. (LCD display). Maybe Zyxel will let
- you borrow a couple for evaluation? You also need to turn on the extended
- retrain option. It will allow data to pass even though the modems are
- retraining. They fall back/forward reliably and work quite well.
